Homemade Granola Bars

These are an absolute favorite of mine! And aside from the m&m's they are good for you! A little chocolate never hurt anyone, right?! So, here is how to make them step by step!

The Ingredients!
Quick cooking oats, M&M's, Flax Meal, Wheat Germ,
Almonds, Peanut Butter, Ground Cinnamon & Honey

You will need:
3 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
3/4 cup M&M's (or chocolate chips, or both!)
2/3 cup nuts (any kind you like!)
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup flax meal
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup honey
1/4 cup melted butter

Step 1:
Mix together all dry ingredients. Oats, flax meal, wheat germ, M&M's, cinnamon and nuts. I obviously used almonds. Oh, and preheat your oven to 350 degrees!

Step 2:
Mix in melted butter, peanut butter and honey. You can use a mixer but I find it's easier to just use a mixing spoon. My spatula was too flimsy and I was just too lazy to use the mixer today.

Step 3:
Once mixed, put onto a foil covered cookie sheet. I don't spray the sheet.
Press out until it covers the pan evenly. (I shouldn't talk, I couldn't get it to my upper right corner, oh well!)

Step 4
Bake in the oven for 15minutes at 350degrees! It will come out looking like this:
Put the whole pan in the refrigerator for 30minutes or until hard.

Step 5:
Once hard, remove from fridge. I take the whole sheet of foil out and put it on the counter. Then, I use a pizza cutter to cut into pieces. I make my pieces smaller but you can cut them however you'd like!
There you go! Oh, and they freeze well too! I always leave some out and vacuum seal the rest and put them in the freezer! Hope you enjoy :)
